Тема: Frunze park

The park is located in Chernomorskay Street, in Central district of Sochi, on the Black sea coast, at the foot of Lysa Hora. Landowner A. Vereshchagin created this park in 1872 and the park was named in his honor. Later, in 1899, the park was donated to the city on initiative of minister A. Ermolov, that’s why people started to call the place Ermilovsky park (Ermolov’s park).

There are many paths along the sea coast. The park contains palms, magnolias and banana trees. In 1937, Summer theatre was built in the middle of the park. The park is formally named after Frunze, but local old people prefer to call it Vereshchaginsky or Ermilovsky park.
