The garden square situated at the very beginning of Kurortny prospect, not far from the place where the Sochi flows into the Black sea. It was created by members of the Komsomol to commemorate Lenin’s 100-year birthday in 1969-1970. The garden square was designed by the architect Kirichenko. In the middle of the square there is a memorial set up to Russian sailors of the Black sea fleet. The memorial consists of a fountain and an authentic anchor from "Penderaklia" frigate, that sunk in the Black sea in 1840.
